KE7HR Laserworks

Paul Jorgenson is KE7HR (FCC Amateur Radio Callsign).  I have been using a CO2 laser to engrave and cut coasters, signs, and acrylic things to make me and others happy.

Custom work is a specialty - if a graphic image looks good in black and white, it will probably make a good laser image.   If you have the rights to an image or it is public domain, lets put it something fun for you.

I have worked with many different types of wood to make signs, name tags, and finger joint boxes and card holders.

Cork coasters are a specialty - they take a good laser image and are quite useful.  Graphics and sayings or quotes are always popular as well as my custom drawings.  Photos can also be lasered onto the cork coasters, but they take more time to get the resolution correct.

Acrylic plastic sheets can easily be cut and engraved.  They make great name tags and signs.   Finger joint boxes and things like test tube holders are some very functional items that I have made with my laser.

Other materials can be lasered and work quite well for signs.  I have made many house number signs and weatherproof text signs on terracotta tile material and even on travertine.

I use anodized aluminum to make custom name tags, often with graphics.  They really make your luggage stand out with the bright red, blue, or black tag attached.  Leather is another great material to laser engrave luggage tags and even some photos.

If it is not alive, I may have tried to laser engrave it.  Painted tiles can have the paint engraved away leaving the underlying color.  The possibilities are almost endless.

My current laser engraver has maximum size limits (around the size of a piece of copier paper) and thickness limits.  Contact me if you have a piece that you would like to have engraved and we can discuss the project.
